Exempt Summary of Responsibilities:
The Production Manager leads, motivates and develops standards for production, manufacturing and special customer project functions. This role ensures production objectives are met in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction. This role implements the company s production control functions, including shift scheduling, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls and manufacturing performance reporting. The role implements production policies in accordance with identified industry, quality and production standards, such as ISO 9000, 13485, 14001, Clean Room requirements. This role is responsible for planning, reviewing and developing production procedures and personnel.
Working Relationships:
The Production Program Manager reports to the Vice President of Production. This role collaborates with the Vice President of Finance/CFO, Vice President of Human Capital, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Vice President of Engineering & Advanced Technology, Director of Innovation, Director of Purchasing and the Quality Manager to ensure accomplishment of the company s stated goals and policies.
Specific Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage specific areas of production, ensuring objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction are achieved. Prepares and delivers comprehensive and understandable production project status reports to management and leadership. Responsible for continuous improvement of production, accomplishing production schedules on-time and reduction of production costs. Responsible for establishing and maintaining team standards, practices and procedures in accordance with company policy.
Page Break Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Industrial Production or related studies with at least 7 years of experience in a production leadership environment. Experience with skill and compliance related disciplines such as ISO, Six Sigma and Lean Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Has a strong belief in quality products and effective, excellent customer service; Possess an empowering leadership/management style; comfortable interacting with employees on the floor and an interest in developing and coaching all employees toward the accomplishment of their individual as well as company performance plans; Able to quickly develop a relationship of mutual respect and trust with the management team based upon sound business principles and personal integrity; Ability to effectively interface with external contacts, particularly customers; Proven ability to refine company operations in a way that maximizes profitability and increases flexibility to achieve strategic and financial objectives; Provide leadership in results-oriented problem solving; Ability to understand complex interrelated business issues.
