Illinois , Addison Job Description Quality Manager - Precision Gear Manufacturing Are you a quality expert with a passion for precision manufacturing? We're seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality assurance and control functions within a highly engineered, tight-tolerance gear production environment. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct impact on product integrity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Lead the Quality Department, providing direction to inspectors and technicians. Oversee in-process and final inspections for gear manufacturing operations. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements. Apply and interpret AGMA standards and complex engineering specifications. Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and drive structured root cause analysis. Execute process improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and increase capability. Maintain and calibrate all quality and inspection equipment. Interface directly with customers for audits, problem resolution, and quality reviews. Partner with Engineering and Production teams during new product launches. Monitor and report key quality metrics including PPM, scrap, and rework trends. What You Bring Minimum of 5 years of quality leadership experience in a precision gear manufacturing setting. Deep understanding of gear inspection equipment (gear analyzers, CMM, profile/lead measurement, runout testing). Strong working knowledge of AGMA standards and tight-tolerance machining. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. Proven success withISO 9001
quality systems; AS9100 experience a plus. Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills. Degree in engineering or related field preferred.
