Position Summary Our client, a leading global manufacturer of engineered products is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Engineering to lead its Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Illustration, and Engineering Regulatory Affairs functions.
Salary:
$150,000/yr. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity overseeing a cross-functional engineering organization responsible for product development across multiple product lines, including AV mounting solutions, kiosks, and outdoor display systems . The Director of Engineering will provide strategic leadership and technical direction for engineering initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, innovatively, and in alignment with business objectives. This role requires a combination of long-term strategic thinking, strong people leadership, and the ability to personally engage in solving complex technical challenges. The ideal candidate is a resourceful and driven engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about product development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Illustration, and Regulatory Affairs functions. Direct engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring alignment with company objectives, timelines, quality standards, and cost targets. Develop and continuously improve engineering processes, procedures, standards, and cross-functional workflows. Collaborate closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle. Provide strategic insight into market trends, emerging technologies, engineering practices, and competitive considerations. Support manufacturing readiness through Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles, process optimization, and production support. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and certification requirements, including UL, FCC, and CE standards . Recruit, mentor, develop, and lead high-performing engineering teams. Establish clear goals and accountability while fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Provide technical leadership and hands-on support in the resolution of complex product, design, manufacturing, and engineering issues. Support and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives and objectives. Partner with leadership to align engineering resources, priorities, and investments with organizational strategy. Perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities The Director of Engineering will demonstrate leadership and accountability for the effectiveness and continual improvement of the organization's Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
Responsibilities include:
Demonstrate leadership and commitment to QMS and EMS processes and take accountability for the effectiveness of these systems. Establish, communicate, and maintain Quality and Environmental Policies and Objectives that are aligned with the organization's strategic direction and business objectives. Promote continual improvement throughout engineering and cross-functional operations. Communicate the importance of effective QMS and EMS processes and ensure these systems achieve their intended goals. Ensure regular QMS and EMS planning, including evaluation of: Organizational context Interested parties' needs and expectations SWOT analysis Risks and opportunities Environmental aspects and impacts Applicable compliance obligations Ensure QMS and EMS requirements are integrated into daily business processes. Ensure appropriate resources are available to maintain effective management systems and support continual improvement. Check out our Google Reviews Visit us on our LinkedIn and Facebook company pages #ZR #ESJ Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering required ; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of hands-on product development engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. 8+ years of engineering leadership and team management experience. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams through complete product development cycles, from initial concept through production.
Strong knowledge of:
Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Engineering validation and testing methods Regulatory compliance and product certification processes Broad technical knowledge in areas including: Heat transfer and thermodynamics Statics and strength of materials Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Electrical systems and electronics Software and firmware Experience with multiple manufacturing processes, including: Sheet metal fabrication Welding Extrusion Casting Injection molding Painting Assembly operations Proficiency with 3D CAD software ; SolidWorks experience strongly preferred. Ability to create, review, and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Strong project management, troubleshooting, resource planning, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with ISO-based quality management systems and process development strongly preferred. Leadership & Management Skills Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong strategic planning and organizational skills. Ability to balance long-term engineering strategy with immediate production and business needs. Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions and effectively resolve complex problems. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and resources in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Commitment to innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. This position may require occasional movement between office, engineering, manufacturing, and warehouse areas.
