• Full-time USA Hoist Company manufactures, leases, installs, and services rack-and-pinion construction hoists for high-rise and commercial construction projects nationwide.

We are transitioning from AutoCAD 2D drawings to a fully Revit-based BIM workflow, and we are hiring a Revit Engineer to lead and own that transition. This is a full-time, in-house, permanent role — not contract. The Role (Three Phases): 1. Phase 1 —

Demo Model:

Build one parametric Revit family for a common hoist system as proof-of-concept and a quality gate. ~60-90 days. 2. Phase 2 —

Full Family Library:

Build out our complete parametric family library covering 15-20 distinct equipment families, with BOM-ready shared parameters. 3. Phase 3 and

Ongoing:

Become our day-to-day Revit modeler, producing project hoist layouts, GC coordination exports (IFC, NWC), and BOM-driven schedules for every project we win.

Chief Engineer Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural, civil, or related engineering discipline (REQUIRED — hard requirement)
• 5+ years dedicated Revit family creation experience (parametric families from scratch, not general modeling)
• Demonstrated portfolio of complex parametric families for industrial / mechanical / construction equipment
• Expert with nested families, shared parameters, type catalogs, parametric formulas, conditional visibility logic
• Experience producing BIM-coordination-grade families (Navisworks, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Trimble Connect)

• Computer-literate, willing to adopt AI and modern tools

Preferred:

• Background in construction equipment, heavy industrial equipment, or vertical transportation (elevators, hoists, cranes)
• Familiarity with rack-and-pinion hoist systems
• AutoCAD 2D fluency for translating existing block libraries
• SolidWorks or other 3D CAD platforms
• Prior GC BIM coordination work
• Revit API or Dynamo scripting experience
• IFC export configuration experience

Critical Design Driver:

The Revit family library must support automated bill of materials (BOM) generation. Every schedulable component carries shared parameters from day one. BOM-readiness is a primary design driver, not an afterthought.
