We are seeking an experienced Travelling Mechanical Project Manager to lead and deliver mechanical scope on construction projects across multiple sites. The successful candidate will manage project planning, execution, and commissioning activities while traveling to project locations as required. This role focuses on mechanical systems oversight, team coordination, contractor management, schedule and budget control, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day execution of mechanical project activities across multiple sites, including planning, scheduling, resourcing and progress monitoring.
Serve as the primary point of contact for mechanical scope: coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
Develop, maintain and update project schedules using P6 or other scheduling tools; track milestones and critical path items.
Control project budgets and forecasts for mechanical work, administer change orders, and report on financial performance.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; lead safety briefings and enforce site safety plans.
Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems including piping and HVAC where applicable.
Review technical drawings, specifications and method statements; resolve technical and constructability issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
Perform risk assessments, implement mitigation plans, and escalate issues to senior management when required.
Provide regular project reporting, progress updates and stakeholder communications; maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Mentor and guide field teams and subcontractors to maintain productivity and workmanship standards. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Project Manager managing mechanical scopes on construction projects, with demonstrated leadership and site experience.
Strong mechanical knowledge, including familiarity with piping systems and HVAC installations (preferred).
Proficiency in project scheduling tools; experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
Experience managing budgets, contracts, change orders and financial reporting for mechanical work.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; able to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
Willingness to travel regularly and work on-site for extended periods
Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to construction and mechanical works.
Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, NEBOSH, or construction/industry-specific qualifications) are advantageous. Benefits Vacation/PTO
