Description GSG Consultants, Inc. (GSG) is an industry-leading Hispanic-owned infrastructure engineering and scientific consulting firm providing services to State, County, Municipal, and private clients. GSG maintains a staff of over 100 technical professionals delivering planning, design, and construction services for new infrastructure developments, expansions, and renovations throughout the Midwest. GSG is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Position Overview GSG is seeking a Resident Engineer (RE) for Transportation/Highway projects. The RE will work with clients at construction project sites and provide contract administration and management of various infrastructure projects. The RE will be responsible for leading and supervising field staff in contract management, administration, field engineering services, and coordination of highway and/or roadway projects. The RE will serve as a key member of client teams for project delivery. The successful candidate must have a strong background in construction management with respect to residential streets, highways, bridges, traffic control review, etc. Job duties include but are not limited to: Leading and supervising construction inspection teams on highway and/or roadway projects. Planning, preparing, and analyzing construction documents. Supervising the preparation of inspector daily reports. Supervising and assisting staff in reviewing and analyzing contractor project schedules, traffic control plans, and other required submittals to ensure they meet contract requirements and restrictions. Conducting regular progress meetings as necessary with the contractor and appropriate personnel. Ensuring the safety of personnel and the general public in all work activities. Monitoring work for compliance to schedule, budget, technical specifications, and contract requirements. Conducting regular field visits to examine construction site conditions and progress. Qualifications B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering 15 + years of Construction Engineering experience 10+ years of Resident Engineer experience 5 + years of IDOT or Tollway Experienced with communicating and coordinating with clients and stakeholders Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

$125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
