Job Description
Messer Construction is seeking a Sr. Project Manager - Mechanical & Process Piping to lead complex commercial and industrial projects. You will own project delivery for mechanical and process piping scopes, driving planning, scheduling, budgeting, and field execution from preconstruction through closeout. This role oversees coordination with design teams and trade partners, enforces Messer's safety and quality standards, and manages RFIs, submittals, and change orders. You'll build strong client relationships, mentor project staff, and leverage advanced construction technologies to deliver high-performing, safe, and efficient facilities. Responsibilities Lead mechanical and process piping scope for large commercial and industrial construction projects from planning through closeout Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controls to meet financial and timeline goals Coordinate design, procurement, and installation of mechanical and process piping systems with internal teams and subcontractors Ensure field execution meets Messer safety standards, quality expectations, and technical specifications Review drawings, RFIs, and submittals; resolve constructability and coordination issues proactively Manage client, design team, and trade partner relationships; lead progress meetings and reporting Oversee change management, including change orders, claims avoidance, and risk mitigation Mentor project engineers and assistant project managers; support team development and knowledge sharing Required Skills Project management Mechanical systems (HVAC/process) Process piping design and installation Construction scheduling (e.g., CPM, P6, MS Project) Budgeting and cost control Contract and change order management Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specs Field coordination and subcontractor management Construction safety management Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)
