Job Description

Purpose of the position To secure the best design of production layouts and processes that increase productivity, eliminate wastefulness and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards within an organization. To lead the Plant Industrial engineering and be part of the plant management team. This role is responsible for all industrial engineering and lean activities on the Ottawa Kalmar facility, Industrial CapEx, Daily operations support, NPD, New technologies adaptation, site long term strategy plan, etc.. The objective of this role is to act as a Lean expert and to support the establishment of a problem solving and continuous improvement culture in the Ottawa Kalmar plant through the development of people and processes. Main tasks and responsibilities Develops and secures execution of strategy for Assembly processes, Industry 4.0, Investments, Industrial footprint Lay-out, NPD, etc… Responsible for all Budget on industrial projects and CapEx plan for operations (Industrial expansion, processes improvements and new technology introduction). Secures IE team competence development and long-term structure and needs (coaching and development with ownership of Std process within IE). Collaborates with the technology organization to ensure manufacturing requirements and design-for-assembly are embedded in the strategic product and technology portfolio and new product development process Ensure best practices relating to Industrial Engineering process and technologies within the site are captured, shared and where applicable re-used to benefit the whole of Operations and the company. Strengthen focus on competitive Quality Delivery Cost deliverables in new product(model) and new processes development. Secure Facility and all other assembly equipment and tooling are always functional and optimized to support organization strategies. Securing all previous responsibilities is supporting lean philosophy. Coaching CI Activity (Kaizen, Problem solving, …) and the Culture change. Coordinate the development of the CI Road Maps for the Plant with the site Management Team. Develop the Lean mindset and knowledge through Continuous Improvement Activities What you'll need to succeed
Education:
A university degree in an Engineering discipline is required.Experience:
A minimum of 10 years work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or logistic working as Lean Coach Demonstrated subject matter expertise and successful transformation in Lean Experience of applying lean in non-manufacturing settings (NPD, Sales, etc) is a plus Ideally, candidate will also have additional experience in other manufacturing rolesCompetencies:
