About the
    Role:
    The Additive Manufacturing Equipment & Process Manager owns VulcanForms\' laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) platform from end to end. This includes machine health, equipment performance, vendor relationships, process parameter development, production build management, and lifecycle planning. This management role combines deep LPBF technical expertise with people leadership and product development. The ideal candidate will build and lead a team of operators and maintenance technicians while driving the development of new products and materials, translating process capability into manufacturable, qualified, and production-ready outcomes.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Own and manage the LPBF equipment fleet, including maintenance scheduling, performance monitoring, and lifecycle planning
    • Directly manage machine operators and maintenance technicians, including contractors and external service personnel
    • Lead process parameter development across relevant alloy systems from initial development through qualification and production release
    • Drive new product development on the LPBF platform
    • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate part requirements into qualified, production-ready processes
    • Manage production build planning and execution
    • Coordinate production schedules, powder inventory, and shared equipment utilization with internal teams
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment and powder suppliers
    • Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and procurement activities
    • Drive continuous improvement in yield, build quality, machine utilization, and production performance
    • Document and maintain process standards, standard operating procedures, and build records
    • Ensure equipment, processes, and personnel support safe, consistent, and scalable production
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field
    • Minimum 5 years of direct laser powder bed fusion experience
    • Demonstrated expertise in process parameter development and new product introduction
    • Hands-on experience developing and qualifying parts in high-performance alloy systems
    • Prior experience managing or leading technical teams, including contractors or external vendors
    • Experience with vendor management and production operations in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong understanding of LPBF equipment, process development, qualification, and production release
    • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
    • Ability to align engineering, operations, suppliers, and external partners around shared goals
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
    Compensation:
    • Annual base salary range: \$152,821 to \$210,129
    • Actual compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
