Role:
3LED Group is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and strengthen execution across our diverse portfolio of lighting brands. This role is responsible for bringing structure, discipline, and consistency to production across multiple brands while improving throughput, quality, and overall manufacturing performance within our factory operations. This is not a purely theoretical or desk-based role. The successful candidate will be highly present on the factory floor, working directly with production teams to solve problems, standardize processes, and drive measurable improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Factory Execution & Process Discipline:
Define, document, and enforce standardized work instructions and production processes. Ensure all jobs entering production are clear, complete, and executable. Reduce rework, ambiguity, and production delays caused by poor inputs.
Throughput & Efficiency Improvement:
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across assembly and production workflows. Improve labor efficiency through line balancing, layout optimization, and practical process changes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on real, measurable outcomes.
Production Support & Problem Solving:
Act as the primary engineering leader supporting daily production needs. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues in real time and implement sustainable fixes. Work closely with operators and supervisors to maintain flow and output.
Equipment & Tooling:
Specify, develop, and improve production equipment, fixtures, and tooling. Improve reliability and uptime of key equipment. Support practical levels of automation where it adds clear value.
Product Definition & Manufacturing Readiness:
Improve the clarity and consistency of BOMs, drawings, and work instructions. Ensure smooth handoff from product design and planning into production. Support gradual improvement toward more structured and repeatable product definitions.
Team Leadership:
Lead and develop manufacturing engineering and technical support resources. Set expectations for rigor, accountability, and execution. Build a culture of ownership and continuous improvement on the factory floor.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or operations. Demonstrated leadership experience in a production environment. Strong background in electromechanical products or assemblies. Experience in high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing environments. Proven ability to improve throughput, reduce defects, and stabilize production processes.
Technical Capabilities:
Working knowledge of and experience with: Mechanical assemblies and production processes. Electrical systems and wiring assemblies. BOM structures and manufacturing documentation. ERP/MRP systems and production workflows. Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documentation.
