This role oversees a team of Logistics Engineers and is accountable for delivering high-quality logistics engineering products across programs. The Logistics Engineering Manager operates at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and program management to ensure supportability is designed for, implemented, and sustained throughout the lifecycle of delivered systems.
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related technical field 8+ years of experience in logistics engineering, sustainment engineering, or Integrated Product Support 2+ years of leadership or management experience Strong knowledge of: Logistics Product Data (LPD) development Maintenance development Failure analysis and corrective action recommendations Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)/Obsolescence management and mitigation planning Sparing Analytics & Provisioning support Transportation Planning & Management Experience supporting complex systems (e.g., maritime, defense, aerospace, or similar) Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities Must be able to obtain security clearance. DESIRED Familiarity with DoD Integrated Product Support Element Guidebook Experience with logistics data systems (e.g., Product Support Analysis tools, ERP systems like Costpoint) Experience in proposal development and capture support Knowledge of digital engineering / model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. Compensation $128,100.00 - $192,100.00 ESSENTIAL Lead the development and execution of Logistics Engineering products & services in alignment with programs' requirements and lifecycle sustainment strategies. Oversee & guide the development of key logistics engineering products & analyses, including: Logistics Product Data (LPD) development Maintenance development Failure analysis and corrective action recommendations Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)/Obsolescence management and mitigation planning Sparing Analytics & Provisioning support Transportation Planning & Management Ensure integration of logistics engineering considerations into system design, development, production, and sustainment phases. Support proposal development, Rough Order of Management (ROM) development, and technical volume inputs related to logistics engineering. Serve as the primary functional interface for logistics engineering across programs and departments. Partner with Product Support Managers (PSMs), Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure cohesive supportability strategies.
Collaborate with:
Engineering teams for design for supportability Supply Chain Management for provisioning and material readiness Program Management for scope, schedule, and cost alignment Communicate risks, gaps, and recommendations to programmatic & business leadership in a clear and actionable manner Duties relating to the managing of people include hiring, training, planning, performance and development, employee recognition, and conflict resolution. Develop and standardize logistics engineering processes, tools, and best practices across programs. Ensure compliance with applicable standards governing logistics engineering products & services (e.g., DoDI 5000 series as applicable, GEIA-STD-0007, MIL-HDBK-502, MIL-STD-3034, SD-22, etc.) Support digital engineering and data integration efforts related to sustainment (e.g., digital thread, model-based logistics). Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, data quality, and analytical rigor. Establish metrics/KPIs to measure effectiveness of logistics engineering outputs and team performance.
