You are being redirected Once you are on the page, please click the refer button Job Overview Qualifications Benefits Job Overview This job posting is for advanced positions in the Transmission, Driveline, and Gear Reducer Chief Engineering organizations with proven program management and execution experience in transmissions and drivelines. The Chief Engineering team is the fully accountable single point technical contact for transmission and driveline products. This includes all aspects of product delivery for current production, new product development, or advanced projects. (the "what" and the "when".) Responsibilities may include oversight of the assigned core program(s) as well as all integration programs. Supporting the chief engineer in directing a team of family (project) managers (FMs), Application Engineers (AEs), Design System Engineers (DSEs). Collaborating with PRC managers, other CE teams, the DEVVAL team, and additional stakeholders to ensure department goals and objectives are met. Responsible for meeting or exceeding program deliverables and functional objectives (i.e. cost, timing, efficiency, performance, mass, NVH, and CQI, 3MIS, EPUS, JD
Power quality metrics) Oversight of all aspects of the transmission project for a given vehicle family (hardware, software, calibration, packaging, builds, validation, ED&D, DVPR, Statement of Work, Design Change Requests, etc) Technical Interface to Vehicle & PT Integration, AME, Purchasing, EE Core, ePT, Controls, Calibration, Quality, Suppliers and EE Systems Leads engineering teams to deliver prototype & production transmission solutions that meet vehicle / program requirements Reviews, approves & tracks the System DVP&R and supports the development of the component DVP&Rs Co-leads proactive Risk Management tasks with QRE Team (i.e. DFMEAs, DFSS, LUR, Heat Map, Reliability Demonstration) Tracks & leads resolution of all eCIMS/GIMs Coordination of all Trade off Studies (TOS). Must be able to complete proper analysis to recommend the proper proposal Supports Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering in the Source Package planning Leads program cost roll ups (i.e. piece cost, tooling, ED&D) with manufacturing engineers & SCIE Coordinates the execution of Performance & Fuel Economy for specific applications (AE to support tasks) Co-owner of the "Top 10 List" to address JD Power, CQI & 3MIS issues. Works with assigned Leads (i.e. Cal, Development, Engineering) to implement improvements Represents chief organization in high level meetings as needed (Steering Committees, PRs, MRs, IH mtgs, PC-prep mtgs, VIT mtgs, etc) Build readiness tasks (build fixtures, test fixtures, dyno support) Leads the technical reviews/evaluations and technical specification sign-offs. (Design Reviews), including EDP (Engineering development Process) deliverables and LRF. Leads the technical responses to investigate/action bulletins that relate to the technology. Coordination of Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) and Benchmarking of RWD hybrid competitive transmissions Responsibilities may also include being the primary interface between the CE group and PRC. Responsible for managing System, interfaces and interactions between components / subsystems of the transmission and driveline system. Transmission and driveline hardware system responsible (integration and system balancing of all components) Interfacing with individual COEs Manufacturing Suppliers Development Validation Center Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals as required Organizes reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders Manages Transmission and driveline system and interface DFMEA / DRBFM
(team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions Manages Assembly (BOM) Part# Complexity Charts including all Axle & Driveline Systems with a clear definition of each assembly part# Manage BRT (Build Readiness Team) for prototype orders; Confirms proto hardware orders and procurement to meet program build(s) milestones Coordinate BOM and experimental builds with ACE Leads and manages build readiness tasks (build fixtures, test fixtures, dyno support) Supports CE & ACE
to develop FTE and ER D/ED&D
Cost Roll-ups for Minor/MCA/ New Programs Review and approve all change notices ensuring checklists, LL, and E-BPs are updated and aligned. Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with PRC, DVC and VO teams Represents CE in managing the "lessons learned" document for the program and ensure that TS (Technical Specialist) receive those updates on a timely manner to update the E-BPs accordingly Reviews transmission and driveline system and applicable component "Validation Completion" status with DVC team periodically & provides update to CE Coordinates DRBTR review and keeper of "follow up items" and decision maker on issuing GIMS for "buds" of problems Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams working closely with ACE, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list Elevate resource issues as needed (CE & Sr. Manager for PRC) Work on special projects as needed Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Chemical or Computer Engineering or related degree field 8 or more years of engineering experience in product development design and release with a minimum of 2 years of propulsion systems experience Demonstrated experience leading collaborative and global team Understanding of typical automotive manufacturing and quality processes Advanced English language skills 90% (Read and Write)Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Excellent work ethic, organization skills, and communication skill Goes "above and beyond" always Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and uncertainty and effect lasting change through effective communication and experience. Proactive, learning, self-driven, teamwork oriented. Efficient work under pressure and high communication skills. Training in problem solving techniques. Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Must be able to lead and manage Suppliers. Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Preferred Qualifications:
