Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ ASRC Federal Advanced Research is currently seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to support autonomy vehicle integrations in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Considering the state of the world today, military technical innovation is critical to defending our territories and those of our allies. The US Army is currently exploring advancements to equip ground combat forces with autonomous vehicle platforms. This effort presents a unique opportunity for civilians to participate in the research and development efforts that will shape future battlefield combat platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical integration activities for autonomous ground vehicle prototype programs and low-rate production efforts. Manage the development, fabrication, assembly, and integration of vehicle structures, chassis systems, armor packages, suspension systems, mobility components, payload interfaces, and mission equipment. Support and oversee prototype vehicle builds and mechanical subsystem integration activities. Coordinate efforts between engineering, production, quality, procurement, logistics, and program management teams to ensure successful project execution. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, and resource allocation plans throughout all phases of the product lifecycle. Conduct recurring program reviews and status meetings with customers, company leadership, and project stakeholders. Organize, manage, maintain, distribute and archive technical data associated with ongoing projects. Utilize enterprise systems including SharePoint, Outlook, Windchill, ERP systems, and engineering databases to manage project documentation, engineering releases, technical data packages, bills of material, and configuration records. Monitor project performance against technical, schedule, and cost objectives and provide regular reporting to management and customers. Support vehicle build planning, fabrication readiness reviews, integration events, testing activities, and production startup efforts. Coordinate the resolution of technical, manufacturing, and supply chain issues impacting program execution. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, military specifications, engineering standards, and quality management processes. Required Qualifications Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Willingness to travel CONUS and
OCONUS, 25
% annually. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and eight years of related experience in a technical environment.
