DLZ is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer - Project Manager to lead Michigan transportation projects from planning through design delivery. This role is intended for a seasoned PE who excels in client leadership, project management, and team coordination, and who is ready to own scope, budget, schedule, and quality. What You'll Do Manage MDOT and Local Agency Federal Aid transportation projects from procurement through detailed design. Serve as the primary client contact, leading meetings and managing communication throughout the project lifecycle. Define project scope, procedures, schedules, and budgets; ensure contractual commitments are met. Direct and coordinate multi discipline project teams across Michigan offices. Monitor project fees, staffing, schedules, and forecasts; proactively manage risk. Ensure compliance with DLZ Quality Control, safety, and documentation standards. Review and approve technical deliverables prepared by project teams. Support business development efforts, including client discovery, proposals, interviews, and win to work activities. Partner with accounting to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections. What Success Looks Like Delivers projects on time and within budget while maintaining strong MDOT and client relationships. Builds trusted, high performing project teams across the Michigan transportation group. Contributes to sustained growth of DLZ's Michigan transportation practice. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 10-15 years of roadway/transportation experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or ability to obtain within 6 months. Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Demonstrated experience managing MDOT and/or Local Agency Federal Aid projects.
