Develops solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Demonstrates ability to analyze and interpret incomplete information. Adapts problem solving approach to identify multiple solutions. Regularly demonstrates initiative and creativity in identifying and trying new and different approaches. The Equipment & Connected Solutions (ECS) team, part of Ecolab's Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) organization, designs innovative control, dispensing and sensor instrumentation systems to improve customer value, user experience, and safety. This position supports all Ecolab businesses, creating a dynamic, challenging, and varied work environment. The primary focus of the position is leading an engineering team through new product development of advanced control, sensor and connected monitoring systems. What You Will Do:
Lead a team of engineers in the design of embedded control systems and wireless/connected products, from requirements through schematic capture, PCB layout, circuit simulation/modeling, bring-up, and design iteration Ensure the team is p artner ing with cross-functional teams (firmware, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, quality) to develop, optimize , and qualify designs that meet inte rnal customer requirements, cost targets, and reliability expectations Plan and support global compliance activities ( eg. UL, CE, EMC, and wireless), including pre-compliance design reviews, test planning, lab coordination, and driving regulatory issue resolution with internal and external partners Collaborate with internal and external research teams to evaluate new control and sensor technologies, prototype concepts, and transition successful solutions into robust product designs Support w ork with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure PCBA builds meet quality, manufacturability (DFM/DFT), and test/continuity objectives ; support pilot builds and production ramp as needed C ollaborate with other internal teams to ensure appropriate resourcing for projects. Coordinate and communicate issues, concerns, and progress on projects and technical developments to ensu re consistent alignment between stakeholders and senior RD&E management. Improve engineering processes with mind towards efficiency and speed to market . Coach, mentor, and act as subject matter expert on technical a nd project management topics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering or related field and 6 years of related experience in electrical engineering Experience with schematic capture and electrical CAD tools Experience managing technical teams Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have): Master's degree in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering or related field and 4 year(s) of experience in electrical engineering circuit design; and 6 + years of experience designing embedded hardware (schematics, PCB layout, bring-up, debug) Demonstrated technical leadership (e.g., establishing design best practices, improving development processes, or leading technical reviews across a team) Demon stra ted exp erience mana ging a wide variet y of internal st akehold ers and wo rk pri o ritiza tion P roven tra ck recor d of org anizationa l change impl ementa tion D emon strated a bility to build t alent, teams, and organi zations to support a nd deliver strat egic initia t ives P roven ability to effec tively mentor, coach, a nd train associate s in key tech nical d isc iplines a cross the or ganization Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical topics to cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders Experience designing with microprocessors/microcontrollers and/or System-on-Module ( SoM ) platforms Experience with embedded wireless/IoT product design (e.g., Bluetooth LE, Wi ‑ Fi ) including integration, certification considerations, and troubleshooting Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout Power and I/O circuit design experience for control applications through implementation of: AC/DC inputs, DC/DC conversion, protection, sensing, drivers/actuators Experience with common communication interfaces/protocols (e.g., RS ‑ 485, CAN/ CANopen , I2C, SPI, UART, Bluetooth 5.0 , IEEE 802.11) Experience designing for and supporting regulatory compliance activities (safety, EMC, and wireless) including test planning, lab coordination, and issue resolution Demonstrated ability to own designs end-to-end, drive work to closure, and troubleshoot complex system-level issues Annual or Hourly Compensation Range The base salary range for this position is $107,600.00 - $161,500.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
