Job Description An engineering-focused organization in the Midwest is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the design and delivery of precast concrete structures. This individual will oversee technical execution, project performance, and team development while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role is ideal for a proven leader with strong structural engineering experience who can drive team performance, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver high-quality project outcomes. Skills and Requirements Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and/or supervisors Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative team environment Oversee project design teams to ensure timelines, quality standards, and deliverables are met Review and approve engineering calculations and drawings for accuracy and compliance Interpret architectural and structural plans to ensure feasibility and integrity Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining schedules and quality Collaborate with internal teams to optimize design, production, and customer outcomes Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and owners as needed Provide engineering support to sales for prospective projects Resolve project issues, including design challenges or errors, in a timely manner Support manufacturing and production teams with engineering expertise Conduct site visits to manufacturing facilities and construction sites as required Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or ABET-accredited equivalent) Professional Engineer (PE) license Strong leadership and team management experience Experience reviewing engineering designs, calculations, and construction documents Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Nice to Have Skills and Experience 10+ years of experience in precast concrete design Direct experience in precast or related construction/manufacturing environments Working Conditions Occasional travel to plant or field locations Must be comfortable working in industrial environments and wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) Ability to navigate job sites, including uneven surfaces, stairs, and active construction areas Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with profit sharing Paid time off and holidays Health savings and flexible spending accounts Company-paid life and disability insurance Additional voluntary benefits (pet insurance, critical illness, etc.)
