A Day in the Life Medtronic is seeking a new Engineering Manager within the post-market reliability team supporting the Cardiac Rhythm Management group. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Manage a team of reliability engineers supporting post-market surveillance and risk management activities including complaint investigation, complaint monitoring, health hazard evaluations, CAPA, product containment and field corrective actions Quality management representative for products within the cardiac pacing therapies and cardiac diagnostics & services portfolios Maintain deep familiarity and execute activities in accordance with

FDA 21 CFR

Part 820, ISO 13485, ISO14971 and other medical device associated regulations; support external inspections on an as needed basis Partner closely with R D and Quality colleagues to embed best practices in technical rigor, simplify execution, and bring forward individual perspectives that strengthen decision-making and solution design

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) AND minimum of 5 years relevant experience, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience Experience leading complex projects/programs Experience with Design Control, Change Development processes, and CAPA Experience creating and maintaining Risk Management Files to the latest

ISO 14971

standards Strong working knowledge of Quality System Regulations such as (QSR 21 CFR 820), ISO 13485, ISO14971 and other medical device associated regulations Nice to

Experience leading or managing a team of Quality Professionals Familiar with implantable medical devices and product specific industry standards. Experience auditing the FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, and the Medical Device Directive Experience with CAPA and/or root cause failure analysis Green Belt Six Sigma/DRM Training/Certification Demonstrated working knowledge of process validation, statistical methods, risk management Experience with Product / Packaging Stability, Biocompatibility, Sterilization, Ship Testing, HALT/HASS For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
