Overview Job Summary:
Manages all aspects of the Boone Health Clinical Engineering program and the related install base of state of the art medical and non-medical devices. Leads Clinical Engineering initiatives to provide operational efficiency and superior customer service by managing the execution of the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP). Assists leadership/physicians in the forecasting, replacement, and evaluation of medical devices. Utilizes statistical analysis to construct and implement programs to affect overall service and support of medical devices in accordance with all state/federal regulations and accrediting agency guidelines for healthcare. Financially responsible for the repair, maintenance and support of all medical devices to include: MRI, CT, all Laboratory devices, Life Safety devices, Robotics, Cath Labs and general biomedical devices. Aids in the development of annual goals and objectives related to supporting the growth and development of services in response to the equipment support needs of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Manages the decision support activities related to diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, vendor contracts and quality assurance of patient care and other devices, and is responsible for medical device recalls. Provides guidance and leadership to employees 24/7 and manages on-call requests. Maintains awareness and conforms to The Joint Commission, CAP, OSHA, State Department of Health and all other federal, state or local government regulations for HSO accreditation. Understands and reports regulatory goals and objectives along with all other Environment of Care (EOC) benchmarks to each HSO regulatory compliance committee. Responsible for Clinical device database inventory and work order accuracy. Promotes excellent customer relations through participation in departmental and leadership meetings, and participates in or provides counsel to the Capital Equipment Committee. Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
