GENERAL FUNCTION
Manages and completes complex industrial engineering assignments and performs statistical analysis of data to provide information to meet and improve production flow, cost and schedule performance and overall efficiency.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiency in production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems Utilizes Earned Value Management (EVMS) techniques to calculate and analyze cost and schedule performance Provides guidance to EVMS Control Account Managers regarding performance projections, variance analyses, estimate at complete targets and recovery plans based on EVM techniques and parameters Develop labor plans to support production and support needs and analyzes current staffing requirements. Optimizes direct and indirect manufacturing labor and in-plant material flow through the use of industrial engineering methods including line balancing, time studies, as well as both in-plant and external material flow Drives towards sustainable solutions by developing a standard workflow for new and existing products while considering safety and efficiency Supports safety performance of the manufacturing area through the design of ergonomic solutions for the different operations as well as for material handling Recommend improvements and/or modifications for the sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters Directs strategy deployment by completing Bottleneck Analysis and Value Stream Mapping Assists facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Understanding of EVMS concepts and applications Advanced knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, procedures, and engineering standards and systems Strong understanding of labor planning, cost estimating, standard development, multi-point/level analysis and schedule adherence. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong knowledge of build strategies and ability create work flow processes Ability to act with a sense of urgency Strong computer literacy
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
