We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our deep drawn metal stamping operations. This role is critical in driving innovation, optimizing production processes, and ensuring the highest product quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a robust engineering background, extensive experience in metal forming processes, and proven leadership abilities to guide a dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Work Environment:
The Engineering Manager will operate primarily in a manufacturing facility setting, which includes exposure to machinery and safety hazards. Safety measures and protocols must be strictly adhered to at all times.Responsibilities:
Directly supervise and mentor a diverse team of engineers and technical staff, encouraging professional development and fostering a collaborative culture that promotes innovation. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration by working closely with production supervisors, quality assurance teams, and design engineers to streamline operations and enhance overall productivity. Design, implement, and refine efficient manufacturing processes specifically for deep drawn stamping applications, focusing on maximizing throughput while minimizing scrap and rework. Apply lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, increasing operational efficiency year over year. Provide advanced technical support related to tooling design, material selection (e.g., various grades of steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys), and stamping operations to uphold engineering best practices. Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex manufacturing issues, employing root cause analysis techniques to develop effective solutions that prevent recurrence. Oversee multiple engineering projects from initial concept through to final implementation, ensuring projects meet established timelines and budgetary constraints while fulfilling customer requirements. Engage directly with clients on custom projects, translating technical specifications and ensuring final products consistently meet rigorous quality benchmarks. Establish and continuously improve comprehensive quality control procedures and metrics, conducting periodic audits and assessments to ensure manufacturing processes adhere toISO 9001
standards. Develop and manage robust testing and inspection protocols, utilizing advanced measurement techniques (e.g., laser scanning, CMM) to guarantee product reliability and safety. Prepare and manage departmental budgets, conducting cost analyses to identify potential savings and justify capital expenditures for process upgrades and equipment acquisitions while maintaining high-quality output. Collaborate closely with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality materials and components, negotiating favorable terms and establishing long-term partnerships that benefit production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure all manufacturing processes fully comply with industry regulations, ISO standards, and environmental guidelines. Maintain awareness of changes in regulations and anticipate their impact on production practices.Requirements:
Directly related experience in metal stamping, with specific expertise in deep drawn processes and high-volume production environments. Demonstrated leadership skills, with proven success in managing teams in manufacturing settings and achieving key performance metrics. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering simulation tools for process design and analysis. Strong problem-solving skills, with an analytical mindset and keen attention to detail, capable of addressing complex engineering challenges. In-depth knowledge of ISO standards, industry best practices, and quality management systems applicable to manufacturing processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to various stakeholders.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field (Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred).
