This role is responsible for ensuring product conformity, strengthening quality processes, and developing the team while partnering with operations, sourcing, and sales to deliver high-quality aerospace products. About Kit Pack LLC (Las Cruces, NM) Kit Pack is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Aeromed Group. Kit Pack was founded in 1960 and provides a trusted procurement network for refurbishment of legacy military aircraft and helicopters. As a partner to the U.S. Department of Defense, it specializes in upgrade kits and parts for iconic platforms, including the B-1, B-52, KC-135, F-16, and C-130. Its expertise also supports mission-critical systems ranging from vehicle overhauls to ammunition loading and gun turrets. Position Summary The Quality Manager leads the quality team responsible for verification of product conformity within our AS9100-certified operation. This role ensures compliance with quality standards while supporting operational efficiency and customer requirements. The position partners closely with operations, sourcing, and sales teams to ensure timely fulfillment of customer requirements while maintaining strong quality performance. A key focus of this role is developing team capability, strengthening quality processes, and driving continuous improvement. What Success Looks Like in This Role In the first 6-12 months, the successful candidate will: Lead and develop the Quality team Ensure consistent adherence to the AS9100 quality management system and inspection procedures Strengthen root cause and corrective action processes to improve quality performance Partner with operations and sourcing to improve inspection efficiency and supplier quality Key Responsibilities Quality Leadership Lead, supervise, and develop the Quality team, ensuring adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) and departmental work instructions Supervise and direct the work of quality inspection personnel and provide input into hiring, performance management, and development decisions Provide leadership and oversight for inspection operations, including planning, prioritization, and allocation of quality resources Identify training and development needs and build capability within the inspection team Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams Quality Systems & Compliance Maintain compliance with AS9100 quality standards Create and enhance control documents, procedures, and workflows Develop and report quality metrics and performance indicators Maintain calibration systems and manage calibration vendors Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities Customer and Supplier Quality Work with government Quality Assurance Representatives (QAR) regarding inspection and acceptance of deliverable items Manage customer complaints and resolution Support external customer inspector visits and audits Manage waiver and deviation submissions to customers and engineering partners Address vendor quality issues and support supplier corrective actions Continuous Improvement Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, including internal, supplier, and customer Corrective Action Requests (CARs) Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to support quality objectives Escalate quality issues and recommend corrective solutions Quality Administration Oversee quality administrative activities including RGA and RMA processes Review and resolve internal, customer, and supplier quality issues Support modernization of inspection tooling and equipment Requirements 5+ years of experience in quality within aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries Working knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality management systems Experience leading or coordinating quality inspection activities Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Proficiency with standard computer systems and business software Preferred Qualifications Aerospace industry experience strongly preferred Experience managing teams and developing employees Previous experience with government contracting and First Article Inspection reports AS9100 internal auditor certification Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related discipline Experience leading cross-functional teams and building collaboration Experience leading Lean or Six Sigma improvement initiatives Knowledge of root cause analysis tools such as 8D, A3, FMEA, and 5 Whys Change management experience Salary $70k-$100k base, negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications. This position is may also be eligible for an incentive plan based on individual performance and company meeting defined targets.
