The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Mexico with at least 15 years of project management experience in residential and commercial site civil design, drainage studies/design, roadway design, water and sewer design, right-of-way engineering, construction document preparation, and post design construction services. Serve as the Senior Civil Engineer in the development of feasibility/planning studies, geometric design schematics, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates. Lead daily coordination of urban development projects. Coordinate with PMs, EITs, designers and drafters. Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration process. Develop project proposals, scopes, budgets, and manage execution and tracking of projects. Complete projects within client specifications, budgets and schedules. Assist in preparation of project reports including feasibility studies, implementation plans, engineering summary reports, and drainage impact analyses. Coordinate meetings (on-line and in-person), preparation of meeting agendas, and distribution of meeting minutes. Effectively mentor young engineers and assist in their development. Perform quality reviews of engineering plans for completeness and engineering accuracy. Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business (Seller) or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. - Serve as Civil Engineer in the development of design schematics, construction plans, specifications and estimates.
- Coordinate with EITs, designers and drafters.
- Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration.
- Support project proposals, scopes, budgets, and manage execution and tracking of projects.
- Complete projects within client specifications, budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate online meetings, preparation of meeting agendas, and distribution of meeting.
- Will work on all types of projects, but the focus will be on site development. This will include design development from concept design phase through completion of construction documents.
- The site development will include but not be limited to grading, floodplain mitigation, drainage, drainage detention, paving, and utilities. The individual will be coordinating with other disciplines within HZI and well as sub-consultants including Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, etc. throughout the design phase.
- The individual will also be coordinating with and providing direction to engineers-in-training, CADD technicians, and project support staff to prepare the project documents (drawings and technical specifications) for permitting and bidding.
- The individual will provide construction administration support for such activities as contractor submittal reviews, contractor requests for information, review of contractor monthly invoices and provide recommendations for invoice approvals, participation in construction progress meetings, occasional site visits as necessary.
- The individual will also provide support for the development of scopes of work, labor hour estimates, and project scheduling for new projects.
