Position Overview:
We are seeking a Traveling Project Manager•Civil to lead and deliver civil construction projects across multiple regional sites. This role is responsible for on-site project leadership, schedule and budget management, quality assurance, and ensuring safe, compliant execution of earthwork, utilities, water systems, and grading scopes. The successful candidate will travel frequently to project locations, coordinate subcontractors and crews, and act as the primary point of contact for owners and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site project management and leadership for multiple civil construction projects across varying locations Develop, maintain and drive project schedules, milestones and critical path activities to meet contractual commitments Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting and implement cost-control measures Coordinate, supervise and schedule subcontractors, vendors and project crews to optimize productivity and resource utilization Oversee earthwork operations, grading, utility installations and water-related construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications Ensure quality assurance/quality control processes are followed and perform periodic inspections to verify construction conformance Enforce and promote strict adherence to safety policies, site-specific safety plans and regulatory requirements Serve as primary client/stakeholder liaison, providing regular progress updates, managing expectations and resolving issues quickly Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders and as-built records Identify risks, develop mitigation plans and lead change management efforts to minimize impacts to schedule and budget Plan and manage logistics for travel, site mobilization, equipment and material deliveries Mentor and develop junior field staff and encourage a collaborative, solutions-focused team environment
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience in civil construction with demonstrated success managing earthwork, utilities, water and grading scopes Proven ability to manage multiple projects and frequent travel (typically 50% or more) with flexible availability to be on-site as needed Strong knowledge of construction methods, reading plans/specifications, construction QA/QC and permitting requirements Experience with project scheduling and cost-control tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore or similar) Excellent leadership, communication and client relationship skills with experience coordinating subcontractors and interdisciplinary teams Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent is a plus OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification preferred Valid drivers license and ability to travel and work extended hours on-site; must be able to pass background check and drug screening if required Problem-solving mindset with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Benefits Medical Vision Dental 401(K) Bonus And More!
