The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, and reliability of all hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems. This leadership role oversees the engineering department, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house operations are maintained to the highest standards while supporting exceptional guest satisfaction. The Chief Engineer manages preventive maintenance programs, capital improvement projects, departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, and energy conservation initiatives. Working closely with hotel leadership, the Chief Engineer ensures the property remains safe, efficient, and fully operational by leading a skilled maintenance team, coordinating contractors, and maintaining compliance with Hilton brand standards as well as all local, state, and federal regulations. Strong technical expertise, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence are essential for success in this role. Duties Direct all preventive and corrective maintenance programs. Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, elevators, fire protection, and mechanical systems operate efficiently. Maintain guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and exterior grounds. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues. Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules. Monitor equipment performance and minimize downtime. Ensure all repairs are completed according to Hilton brand standards.
