Who You Are The Mechanical Engineering Manager is primarily responsible for leading 20-25 mechanical engineers through design, analysis, verification, and production support of mechanical structures, enclosures, and electronic modules for multiple programs across the RMS Line of Business. In their technical leadership capacity, they will be responsible for developing, growing, and maturing a high performing team of mechanical engineers, with the technical expertise to support the development and delivery of high quality hardware products and solutions. In their operational leadership capacity, they will be responsible for driving their team's operational excellence and technical execution through process standardization and improvement; and working closely with program leadership and other functional leaders, in order to meet/exceed our business commitments. In this capacity, they are expected to apply critical thinking and analytics as they manage team performance and help the Sensor Mechanical Design & Test organization meet its performance goals and objectives. In their transformational leadership capacity, they will be responsible for helping the organization achieve its digital transformation goals and objectives by identifying opportunities, helping to define a vision and strategy, and most importantly, drive specific plans and activities to achieve the desired results. As a business leader, the selected candidate will be responsible for employee recruitment, selection and training, performance management, salary planning, recognition/reward. They will also have the budget authority covering employee training and development, rewards, and recognition, and overhead for their teams. This position reports directly to the Senior Engineering Manager for Sensor Mechanical Design & Test within Sensors/Effectors Integrated Engineering. Basic Qualifications:
HW Engineering or equivalent background Bachelor's degree in a HW engineering related field Minimum related experience of 10 years Experience executing on or leading developmental teams Strong and proven understanding of engineering development process Demonstrated ability through work experience, to collaborate across multi-discipline teams to achieve results Active security clearance or ability to obtain prior to start

Work Remotely:
Part-time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $141,300 - $244,835. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
