Responsible for leading product engineering function of Akron Brass, including designing new product, re-engineering of existing product, operations support, product liability, and documentation and product structure control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and develop the Engineering team; serve as the organization's product design expert Oversee engineering for new and existing products to meet customer, schedule, and cost requirements Support manufacturing and operations with timely engineering solutions Improve engineering processes for efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction Ensure compliance with mechanical specifications, ISO 9001:2015, and the Akron Brass Quality Manual Manage shifting priorities and ensure deadlines are met Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on new product introduction and manufacturing readiness Plan and manage the Engineering budget and resource allocation Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement Communicate critical quality, compliance, supply, and safety risks to leadership

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Master's preferred) 5+ years of engineering or product development experience 3+ years of managerial experience Strong skills in

GD&T, 3D

CAD, FEA, and project management Experience with CFD and multi‑disciplinary engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement practices Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills Ability to work cross‑functionally and adapt to changing priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office
