Job Description

We're partnering with a well-established, employee-focused automation/industrial solutions company in the Camp Hill, PA area to hire an Automation Engineering Manager. This is a fully onsite leadership role overseeing a controls design team responsible for industrial control systems and control panel design. You'll balance people leadership and workload management with technical oversight to ensure high-quality, compliant design deliverables.
Salary Range:
$89,000-$98,000 (depending on experience)

Full-time, 40 hours/week What You'll Do Lead, mentor, and develop Controls Designers/Senior Designers (coaching, onboarding, training, performance support). Manage team workload, staffing, prioritization, and assignments to hit project timelines and deliverables. Coordinate with project management, engineering, and panel build teams to support execution and solve design issues. Review/approve drawings, redlines, design packages, and release documentation for accuracy and consistency. Maintain/enforce department standards, documentation requirements, and best practices. Ensure designs meet applicable codes/standards and customer requirements (NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508A). Oversee part selection/standardization and help maintain design libraries/databases. Drive continuous improvement in quality, standardization, workflows, and engineering tools. Serve as the escalation point for complex electrical controls design decisions (including Auto
CAD/EPLAN
environments). What We're Looking For Strong leadership/mentoring background in a technical environment. Solid understanding of industrial controls and control panel design. Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and team accountability. Strong communication and decision-making skills. Preferred Experience / Education Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical discipline + 6+ years related experience OR Associate degree in engineering/technical discipline + 8+ years related experience Working knowledge of AutoCAD and EPLAN Experience with UL 508A compliance/interpretation Experience improving processes/standards within design/engineering teams
