Engineering Director Salary:

- $202,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our engineering operations, drive technical excellence, and align engineering strategy with business objectives.
This role oversees project delivery, team leadership, and engineering standards while playing a key role in product development and industry engagement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in civil engineering, including pipe systems, stormwater management, hydraulics, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead engineering operations, including project execution, team performance, and workflow management to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery Manage, mentor, and develop engineering staff, including Design Engineers and CAD Technicians Assess engineering capacity and plan staffing and resource allocation Represent the organization on industry committees (ASTM, AASHTO, NCSPA, PPI); monitor specification updates and ensure organizational compliance Drive product improvement and new product development initiatives, including: Pipe system design Stormwater modeling Hydraulic analysis Water quality treatment solutions Engage with engineering firms, public agencies, and Departments of Transportation (DOTs) through technical presentations and consultations Collaborate with government entities and stakeholders to support product specifications and applications Establish, maintain, and enforce engineering standards, procedures, and technical documentation Ensure all engineering solutions comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship across the organization Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field Active Professional Engineer (PE) license Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including leadership or management responsibilities Extensive experience with pipe systems, hydraulics, and stormwater infrastructure Demonstrated success leading engineering teams and managing multiple concurrent projects Strong working knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO standards Experience with NCSPA and/or PPI standards or committee involvement Experience working with DOTs, municipalities, and regulatory agencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel occasionally for industry meetings and training
