Job Description Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the manufacturing engineering team, optimizing production processes, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality products. This role focuses on process improvement, equipment optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and maintain production standards. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will work closely with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and enhance manufacturing capabilities.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manufacturing engineers, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.Process Optimization:
Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality.Project Management:
Oversee new product introduction (NPI) projects, from design to production, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Equipment Maintenance & Upgrades:
Manage and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.Cost Reduction Initiatives:
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the manufacturing processes without compromising quality or safety.Lean & Six Sigma Implementation:
Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive continuous improvement and streamline production processes.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, and R D to support product development, troubleshooting, and manufacturing improvements.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with regulatory and safety standards, promoting a safe work environment.Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process changes for reference and regulatory compliance.Required Skills:
Leadership:
Strong ability to lead and inspire a team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.Technical Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control techniques.Analytical Skills:
Proficient in process analysis and optimization, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Project Management:
Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.Required Experience:
Experience:
7+ years in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with CAD software, ERP systems, and manufacturing simulation tools.Lean & Six Sigma:
Proven experience in implementing Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.Level of Education:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Certifications:
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.Industry Knowledge:
Background in aerospace, automotive, or other high-precision manufacturing is preferred.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
