Hiring Salary Range :
$ 215,400.00 - 261,660.00 This range represents the hiring range. Salaries are determined individually depending on skills and experience. . The careers we offer are meaningful because the work we do matters. Join us! Job Summary The incumbent is responsible for leading the day-to-day development of CN's track infrastructure strategy. In addition, the incumbent leads a team that oversees the execution of large scale and complex track maintenance initiatives, in collaboration with other senior leaders . Main Responsibilities Track Infrastructure and Operations
  • Lead development of track infrastructure strategy
  • Act as a partner to the business on important track maintenance decisions
  • Support the capital investment committee
  • Monitor operational dynamic including quarterly safety, track, and operations review
  • Conduct and commission track engineering analyses in support of business
  • Monitor external trends and track technology intelligence
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and industry experts
  • Articulate sets of available track capital options for the enterprise
  • Build and recommend proposed enhancement to track priorities and plan to executive leaders
  • Align stakeholders to common goals
  • Communicate outcomes across the business
  • Manage external engineering and construction vendors
  • Deliver value in partnership with the business
  • Lead and develop track engineering skills across the business
  • Lead and coordinate major track capital projects and integration activities, including operational and safety due diligence
  • Maintain list of critical infrastructure targets and evaluate maintenance opportunities as they manifest themselves
  • Support initiatives to optimize CN track assets
  • Oversee compliance and regulatory applications People Management
  • Oversee a team of senior Engineering leaders for key deliverables, including capital programs, safety models, communication of recommendations and execution plans
  • Lead across functions by identifying and aligning the Subject Matter Experts from across the business to execute a wide range of initiatives and deliverables
  • Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports
  • Provide direct reports with opportunities for career development
  • Participate in succession planning
  • Participate in performance evaluations, review findings from indirect reports for team members Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and is eligible to participate in CN's hybrid work model.
The incumbent must be available to work night shifts and weekends when necessary. The role requires travel (50%) throughout North America. Requirements Experience Transportation or Logistics
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience o Experience with a Class 1 railroad
  • o Experience in track maintenance, engineering, or operations
  • o Demonstrated leadership skills in a multi-stakeholder and decentralized environment
