Job Description

Manages energy utility projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. Performs the project management function by creating and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and delivery expectations; while evaluating and managing scope, risk, and profitability. Ensures project safety and internal compliance by effectuating clear communication with customers, key stakeholders, and internal management. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Partner with engineering and design production leadership teams to plan, execute, and review client funded projects. Communicate all relevant activities and action plans to key internal stakeholders while accepting feedback and direction from Program and Delivery Managers. Develop and/or document project management plans that include project scope verification, schedules, timelines, milestones, budget estimates, cash flows, work breakdown structures, and resource requirements. Lead process development and reporting advancements within the Operations team and drive continuous improvement for project management best-practices. Mentor and train project coordinators by directing coordination activities, providing constructive feedback, and observing performance. Performance observations must be reported to Operations Leadership. Ensure compliance with best-practices and guidelines. Provide input and feedback for project onboarding, funding, financial analysis, and status reporting for each project. Develop timetables and priorities for the execution of all design and related field activities for assigned projects. Coordinate various client and 3rd party contractor activities where necessary. Ensure resource requirements are documented and accurately assigned to facilitate maximum efficient utilization and meaningful capacity planning. Prepare regular financial and resource forecasts at the project and program level as required. Evaluate executed contracts to ensure delivery and finance teams are informed and compliant with legal, ethical, and contractual requirements. Ensure complete and timely project closeout including lessons-learned reviews to facilitate continuous improvement. Travel to various Engineering Centers and customer site locations when necessary and appropriate. Accept and deliver on various related tasks and duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management combined with Two (2) years' Project Manager experience; or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management combined with Three (3) years of related experience; or Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology or other related technical degree combined with Six (6) years of related experience; or Eight (8) years of related experience. Requisite Abilities and Skills Demonstrated understanding of electrical distribution systems, design, and construction, as well as fundamental knowledge of substations, systems, controls, or line work. Trained in areas of project management, construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, quality control, risk management, etc. Experience with scheduling and work management software Root cause analysis of problems to diagnose the underlying cause(s) and potential remedies of performance. Ability to perceive risk and prioritize tasks from all angles such as safety, emergent work, changing conditions, division of responsibilities, contracting strategy, and urgency. Demonstrate sound decision-making approach. Apply conflict management skills to improve relationships with an overriding goal to do the "right thing" for customers and employees. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of New Albany, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $49.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
