In This Role… In this leadership role, you will serve as the primary quality interface for Underbody Systems Engineering, overseeing the validation of FMA plans and driving cross-functional teams toward successful Prevent Action Closure (PAC). You will play a critical role in setting strategic warranty targets and pioneering new metrics to ensure world-class quality throughout the global design process.
You'll Have:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering. 5+ years of experience in Underbody hardware or systems. Extensive FMA knowledge and documentation experience , including DFMEA, P-Diagram, Quality History, Boundary Diagram, Interface Analysis, and Functional Analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , specifically leveraging the "three-legged five-why" methodology and reliability methods. Proven ability to analyze technical data to assess risk, track program metrics, and inform engineering or business decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for tracking deliverables, creating reports, and presenting complex information to leadership. Experience utilizing AI solutions , including writing prompts and generating AI tools to improve workflows. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and manage conflict resolution. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week. #LI-Hybrid #LI-LT1 What You'll Do… Lead and supervise a team of engineers serving as the primary interface with Underbody Systems Engineering (UnSE), ensuring robust designs by validating that all engineering evidence meets rigorous requirements and design rules. Drive Problem-Solving Excellence by leading cross-functional teams through Prevent Recurrence (PR) and Prevent Action Closure (PAC) processes; apply advanced methodologies to identify systemic root causes and implement long-term migration plans. Strategize Quality Targets in collaboration with Program and Functional Quality teams to develop and execute quality benchmarks for all future vehicle programs. Oversee Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) by supporting functional teams in the creation of Reliability Check Lists (RCLs) and DFMEAs, while conducting rigorous FMA audits at key milestones to mitigate risks. Ensure Requirement Alignment by verifying that program requirements are accurately applied and tailored to the specific goals of each target vehicle program. Partner with Technical Specialists to confirm that Design Verification (DV) plans achieve program reliability targets through the use of enhanced Reliability Check Lists. Validate Engineering Evidence within FEDE (Ford Engineering Design Environment) to ensure design compliance with all associated requirements and engineering standards. Champion Continuous Improvement by developing and implementing innovative processes and metrics to track, analyze, and elevate overall program quality.
