Job Description
Lead Projects. Build Relationships. Mentor the Next Generation. We are seeking an experienced Professional Civil Engineer (PE) to join our team as a Project Manager. If you have 8+ years of site/civil engineering experience and are ready to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients, and mentor junior engineers, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You'll lead projects from concept through completion while working closely with developers, municipalities, consultants, contractors, and internal team members. What You'll Do Lead site/civil and land development projects from planning and design through permitting and construction. Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables. Oversee site plans, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and related civil design. Navigate New Jersey permitting and regulatory requirements and coordinate with municipalities and agencies. Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and help develop long-term relationships. Review plans and technical deliverables and maintain a high standard of quality. Coordinate with surveying, environmental, planning, and other project disciplines. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff. Participate in proposals, client presentations, and business development opportunities. What We're Looking For 8+ years of relevant site/civil engineering experience. Active New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Proven experience managing civil/site development projects. Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting. Experience working with New Jersey municipalities and regulatory agencies is highly valued. AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency required. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-management skills. Ability to lead projects independently while managing and mentoring a team. Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office proficiency preferred. Why Hartland?
