Job Description

Project Manager/Engineer Job Description Sundown Lake Rural Improvement Zone (RIZ) Board of Trustees (BOT) Job description - Looking for a skilled professional responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects while managing resources, and ensuring projects meet time, budget, and quality objectives. This individual will communicate directly with the RIZ Board.
  • Oversees projects from start to finish, coordinating budgets, schedules, and staff
  • Manages daily site operations, quality, and safety
  • Manages cost estimation for major projects
  • Act as a liaison between contractors and other professionals
  • The RIZ board will make all decisions based on the project manager/engineer's recommendation(s) Skills and qualifications
  • Good leadership and decision-making skills
  • Be resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to work in a team and get along with different personality types
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Able to use office programs and project management software
  • Act as the principal technical expert to the RIZ board.
  • Understanding of dam construction and features.
  • Ability to inspect, identify, and document dam safety deficiencies.
  • Provide operational plans and develop threshold documents for safe reservoir operation.
  • Develop condition assessments for RIZ dam structure, including: earthen embankment, abutments, spillway, and ancillary structures.
  • Working knowledge of fluvial processes and geomorphology as they relate to erosion and sedimentation.
  • Assist RIZ board with the development of short and long and term plans for sediment reduction and improved water quality.
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering and earthwork construction.
  • Experience with hydraulic and mechanical dredging and construction of dredge disposal sites.
  • Experience with marine construction as related to revetment and rip-rap placement.
  • Grant writing experience preferred Salary - Based on experience.
Anticipated on average 10-20 hours a month. This will be a 1099 employment position.
Pay:
$50.00 - $100.00 per hour
