  • Hybrid Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Principal Designer KBE responsible for the advancement of the processes, tools and technologies used in the Engineering & Design organization.
This person is responsible for the creation of the requirements to drive automation and digital advancement in the Engineering & design organization. They will apply lean principles in the mapping of processes for continual improvement of engineering & Design process and methods. They will lead the cross functional organization through process and system changes and be responsible for both development of the training materials, as well as the training of employees. Hybrid, Plymouth, MN Your Responsibilities:
Have complete understanding of the roles and responsibilities of all levels of designer activities, systems and tools. Provide strategic governance & recommendations of the data systems, Agile PLM, computer-assisted engineering and design software, and other tools the designers and engineers use with the intent to evaluate and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and leverage progressive technologies to drive product development quality and time to market. They will also be reasonable for their assigned organizations to maintain standards. Lead cross-functional teams to implement system improvements including developing documentation of all processes and delivering training, as needed. Quantify the financial and operational impacts of the identified opportunities and build a business case to justify the investment in proceeding with the project. Convert basic rules-based designs into logic code for automated BOM, modular designs, assembly drawing, and flat file outputs. Partner with IT department to represent the functional system needs of the design teams and implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of use, maintenance, and system performance. Champion an integrated model validation process with the simulation teams and operations teams (Integrated Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, etc..). Work with the digital team to install software and user utilities for modifications and upgrades of operating systems and workstation environments. Provide leadership through influence to resolve conflict and consensus management among employees and other departments. Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Provide input to the operating costs of department in preparation of budget forecasts. Apply lean methods to provide a continual improvement environment leveraging DIMAC, Kaizen, and CI activities to execute and advance the organization. Your Qualifications:
AAS. degree in design/drafting or equivalent 12 yrs experience after AA or 5 yrs after BS in Engineering Good written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of
AMSE Y14.5
Desing and drafting standards

  • Expert Understanding Draft Sight
  • Expert Understanding Demonstrated people leadership skills with the ability to empower others to grow and deliver results
  • Advance Capability Lean Methodologies applied to everyday activities
  • Providing continual improvement practices (Green/ Black Belt or equivalent)
  • Advance capability Flexible travel 15%
Your Preferred Qualifications:
BS of Engineering degree with 5yrs design experience Experience with Excel

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,000
  • $153,300 plus a 10% bonus in Minnesota.
The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
