In this role, you'll lead the VDC process for the mechanical scope, working closely with internal teams, field personnel, and customers to deliver coordinated, constructible, and cost-effective solutions. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong technical expertise, and can lead cross-functional collaboration to drive project success from preconstruction through installation. Position Responsibilities Manage the VDC process and project timelines to ensure coordination milestones are met Lead coordination meetings, perform clash detection, and drive resolution of conflicts across all disciplines (Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Structural, and Architectural) Develop coordinated, value-engineered solutions that align with project goals, constructability, and budget requirements Collaborate with project management, engineering, and field teams to support seamless project execution Work with mechanical detailers to produce fabrication drawings, installation shop drawings, sleeve plans, and spool drawings Perform constructability reviews of mechanical systems and provide technical guidance throughout the coordination process Conduct quality control reviews of construction documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, ASIs, and addenda, ensuring updates are communicated effectively Support field operations as needed and assist with plan submissions and coordination with the construction team Here's What We're Looking For Journeyman-level trade license (or higher) required 5+ years of VDC, detailing, or project management experience, or 10+ years of field installation experience Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including VRV, WSHP, and DX split systems Working knowledge of constructability, installation methods, and industry standards (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASPE) Proven ability to lead coordination efforts and communicate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks Manage, Bluebeam, and other BIM/VDC tools; experience with Fabrication MEP preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days); Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or similar certifications are a plus Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated with a focus on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement Demonstrates and upholds Power Design's core values: integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth Benefits and Perks Competitive salaries offered Flexible and hybrid work options available to support work-life balance Cutting-edge headquarters with an on-campus café, fitness center, game room with golf simulator, electric scooters, lake with running path, training facility, and tobacco-free campus Exciting, award-winning workplace culture focused on employee appreciation, recognition, and fun Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offered Short and long-term disability plans 401k with company matching and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) options available Paid time off and company holidays provided Discounts to a variety of services, mental and physical wellness resources, free Care.com memberships, and other perks for all Power Design team members #LI-CR1 At Power Design, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
