About this position:

The Vice President of Development is a senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of LMCU's software development ecosystem. This role oversees all internal and external application development, automation initiatives, and emerging AI capabilities. The VP ensures that LMCU delivers secure, scalable, high‑quality applications that support organizational goals, enhance member experience, and advance the credit union's digital transformation. The ideal candidate brings deep engineering leadership, strong Agile expertise, and hands‑on experience with UiPath RPA and Agentic AI systems, combined with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cultivate a high‑performance, collaborative culture. What you'll do: Software Development Strategy Develop and execute a comprehensive software development and support strategy aligned with organizational objectives. Establish technology roadmaps, release schedules, and long‑term architectural direction. Integrate automation‑first principles, including UiPath RPA and Agentic AI, into the development strategy to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Ensure all development functions operate within a mature Agile framework emphasizing iterative delivery, transparency, and continuous improvement. Software Engineering Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing software engineering organization. Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Champion Agile leadership behaviors, fostering psychological safety, empowerment, and experimentation. Guide teams in adopting best practices in engineering, automation, and AI‑enabled development. Product Development & Delivery Oversee the full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment. Ensure delivery of high‑quality applications that meet time, budget, and performance expectations. Champion Agile product management practices, including backlog health, incremental delivery, and rapid feedback loops. Evaluate and integrate automation and AI‑enabled workflows where appropriate to enhance member and employee experiences. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with business units, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with requirements and strategic priorities. Facilitate Agile ceremonies and cross‑departmental collaboration to drive shared ownership and rapid iteration. Identify automation opportunities across the organization and ensure successful deployment of RPA and AI‑driven solutions. Technical Leadership Provide architectural and technical direction for development and support teams. Ensure adherence to modern engineering standards, secure coding practices, and scalable design principles. Lead the adoption of UiPath RPA, Agentic AI frameworks, and other emerging technologies. Collaborate with third‑party vendors and application providers to ensure quality, performance, and alignment with LMCU's technology strategy. Compliance, Culture & Values Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, internal policies, and required training. Demonstrate ethical leadership, follow‑through, and a commitment to doing what is right for members and employees. What you'll bring: 5-8+ years of leadership experience in software development and engineering. Strong Agile leadership experience, including coaching teams, scaling Agile practices, and leading Agile transformations. 3+ years of experience with UiPath RPA, including design, deployment, and governance of automation solutions. 3+ years of experience implementing or overseeing Agentic AI systems and AI-enabled workflows. Proven experience managing complex application portfolios and modern development environments. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior-level professionals, navigate complex conversations, and build trust with stakeholders. Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences while coaching teams and leaders in Agile principles and collaborative behaviors. Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and modern engineering practices, balancing innovation, risk, and operational stability. Experience evaluating automation and AI use cases with a focus on compliance, security, and operational impact, and collaborating effectively with third-party vendors and partners. What you'll get:
