Job Description

Chief Engineer Holiday Inn Express-Orangeburg 118 Sleep Inn Drive, Orangeburg, SC 29118 $14 an hour - Full-time $14 an hour - Full-time Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering and maintenance department. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for hotel equipment and facilities. Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance technicians and engineering staff. Ensure the proper operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire safety, and building systems. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Coordinate repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects. Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives. Maintain compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and hotel policies. Respond to emergency maintenance situations and minimize operational disruptions. Manage departmental budgets, inventory, vendor relationships, and contractor services. Support guest satisfaction by ensuring facilities remain safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. Willing to be "on-call" and must respond to any calls within 30 minutes. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or engineering-related degree preferred. Several years of hotel engineering, facilities management, or maintenance experience. Prior supervisory or management experience. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.
