POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Infrastructure Solutions Engineering•Americas is responsible for setting and executing the regional engineering strategy supporting Vertiv's Infrastructure Solutions portfolio across the Americas. This role provides senior leadership across multiple engineering managers and disciplines, ensuring consistent execution, regulatory compliance, and financial performance aligned with Vertiv's operating rhythms, quality standards, and growth priorities. The Director owns post-sales engineering delivery for the Americas region, balancing customer commitments, margin performance, capacity planning, and talent development. This role is a key member of the Americas leadership team and serves as the primary regional engineering interface to Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Global Engineering partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Strategy & Governance Translate global engineering strategy into an Americas-specific execution model aligned with Vertiv global governance and operating cadence. Establish and enforce regional engineering standards, design authority, and review processes. Act as senior engineering authority for the Americas on complex, high-risk, or strategically significant programs. Ensure alignment with global engineering platforms while addressing regional regulatory requirements. Business, Financial & Capacity Accountability Own Americas engineering cost structure, productivity targets, margin performance, and capacity planning. Partner with Sales on deal qualification, technical risk assessment, and major pursuits. Support forecasting, annual operating plans, and long-range resource planning. Drive continuous improvement focused on scalability, cycle time reduction, and cost leverage. Program Execution & Regional Oversight Provide executive oversight for complex, multi-site programs across the Americas. Ensure compliance with regional codes (NEC, IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE) and local AHJs. Lead resolution of systemic engineering and execution issues. Serve as escalation point for customers, contractors, regulators, and executives. Organizational Leadership & Talent Development Lead and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders across the Americas. Define organizational design, manager span of control, and succession plans. Drive performance management and leadership development. Champion a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams for integrated delivery. Coordinate with Global Engineering and Product teams on standard platforms. Represent Americas Engineering in QBRs and executive forums.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred. 15+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years leading managers or leaders of leaders. Proven ownership of regional organizations with financial and operational accountability. Strong executive communication and influence skills. Experience operating within a matrixed, global organization.
