Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Position Overview Our client is seeking an accomplished Chief Engineer to provide technical and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects. This position will oversee engineering teams, guide project execution, maintain key client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the organization. The ideal professional will have a strong background in civil infrastructure and the ability to manage several projects, teams, budgets, and stakeholder relationships at the same time. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project leadership, business development skills, and strong communication. Key Responsibilities Lead engineering and design teams across multiple disciplines and project assignments. Provide technical guidance, quality oversight, and direction to engineering professionals and support staff. Manage multiple public and private-sector projects from planning and design through delivery. Monitor project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, subcontractors, and overall performance. Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, plans, and design deliverables for accuracy and compliance. Evaluate proposed modifications to project designs, schedules, and technical requirements. Collaborate with developers, government agencies, contractors, consultants, engineers, and other project stakeholders. Translate client needs and project requirements into practical engineering solutions. Mentor and develop engineering staff while assisting with recruitment and team-building activities. Support project pursuits, proposals, client development, and other business-development initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing public and private-sector clients. Provide leadership on transportation, infrastructure, site development, stormwater, GIS/data collection, and asset management-related projects. Review construction and design documents covering grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control, demolition, site layouts, transportation improvements, stormwater systems, and cost estimates. Monitor project quality and help ensure engineering deliverables meet applicable standards and client expectations. Represent the organization professionally during client meetings, contractor discussions, public meetings, and interactions with government officials. Utilize and maintain familiarity with industry-standard CAD and design platforms. Perform other engineering leadership and project responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program . Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Tennessee . Minimum 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience . Experience with public infrastructure, transportation, site development, stormwater, or related civil engineering projects. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong experience overseeing project budgets, schedules, technical deliverables, and client relationships. Background working with transportation projects and TDOT requirements or comparable public-sector standards. Solid knowledge of civil engineering design, project management, and construction processes. Working proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, and/or MicroStation . Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive assignments in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and ability to meet the requirements of the company's vehicle insurance program.Pay:
