They manage engineering teams, review shop drawings, oversee connection design, and support production for structural or architectural precast components like beams, columns, and panels.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and train engineers and drafters, managing workloads and performance.
Technical Design Oversight:
Oversee the structural analysis, design calculations, connection details, and shop drawing preparation for precast elements.
Production/Field Support:
Collaborate with plant operations on formwork, stripping, and casting, and support field crews with erection and repair issues.
Quality & Standards:
Ensure all designs comply with PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute) and ACI standards.
Project Management:
Coordinate project timelines, shop drawing submittals, and client communication.
Continuous Improvement:
Develop and implement improvements in design efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience:
7+ years in structural engineering, with at least 3 years focused on precast concrete.
Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license is generally required (or ability to obtain). Structural Engineer (SE) may be preferred.
Software Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla).
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of precast manufacturing, handling, and erection processes. Key Competencies Strong leadership and coaching skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage complex projects and meet tight deadlines.
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
