Fire Sprinkler Designer & Design Manager

About us As a growing fire protection design consultancy, Resolut Group has been providing fire sprinkler system design for the past 10 years, and general fire protection consulting for the past 50+ years. We work for architects, contractors, AHJ's, and building owners to save lives and property. Resolut is engaged in extremely diverse markets including educational, religious, industrial, commercial, and mercantile among others. Responsibilities The Fire Sprinkler Design Manager is responsible for overseeing and reviewing the designs of other employees, while managing their own design workload. The design manager will provide fire sprinkler shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, seismic calculations, and product submittals in a timely and professional manner. This person will report directly to the licensed fire protection engineering principal, who will assist and consult as needed. A professional demeaner is required, as this individual will frequently meet with and provide written correspondence with clients.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of fire sprinkler system designs. Conduct quality control reviews and technical guidance for junior designers. Coordinate technical design efforts with architects, contractors, and other consultants. Mentor and guide junior level designers in training settings. Obtain or maintain

certification. Design standpipe, fire pump, water tank, sprinkler, spray, and some special hazards systems. Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to budget, scope, and schedule. Communicate regularly with clients in a professional manner, providing technical guidance and project updates.

Competencies:

Technical Writing & Communication Skills. Water-based Systems Layout. Teachable and works well with others on a team. Organized and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

NICET Certification in Water Based Systems Layout, Level 3 preferred, or licensed FPE. Will consider non-certified individuals who possess a history of proficiency. Demonstrated success in preparing fire sprinkler system designs with little to no oversite. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Hydratec (Hydracalc and Hydralist), or AutoSprink. Thorough knowledge of NFPA and FM design Standards. (Those without a working knowledge of these standards need not apply). Resolut Group is an equal opportunity employer.
