SSI is seeking a Acquisition Specialist for a role in El Segundo, CA.Role and Responsibilities include:
Provide advice to Program/Project Managers regarding acquisition strategies, schedules, contracting, budgeting and execution. Prepare periodic status reports, coordinate and periodic staff meetings and technical interchange meetings, and develop acquisition plans, schedules, and executive program briefings. Develop, draft, and coordinate overarching program planning and execution documents as prescribed by/tailored from DoDI 5000.02 / Acquisition Framework, and relevant DoD, AF, and local unit policies that pertain to rapid prototyping. Provide technical and programmatic assessments of contractor design/milestone reviews to assess progress, risks and issues, and the ability to achieve mission requirements. Provide program element coordination, staffing and monitoring; advise and assist government customer regarding funding commitments, obligations, and expenditures as well as drafting and supporting delivery of program funding documentation and monthly financial reports.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent business-related discipline and fourteen (14) or more years in government weapon systems acquisitions and program management and, or Contracts management within the Department of Defense.Experience with the:
Department of Defense Major Capability Acquisition System process. Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process. Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution process. Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable). Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.Preferred Qualifications:

Role and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Government with management of multiple simultaneous projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Facilitate development of plans, requirements, and documentation to define project tasks, including objectives, scope, and milestones, in coordination with stakeholders.
- Support the government with coordination and management of security activities across the DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) for integrated analysis.
- Manage contractor task allocations, maintaining records of assignments, progress, and completion.
- Monitor analysis efforts across multiple contractor-led developments, tracking task execution and progress, ensuring adherence to established timelines and standards.
- Provide updates on project execution, milestones, delays, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Track deliverables and ensure they go through appropriate review and approval processes.
- Establish, maintain, and ensure accountability for project deadlines.
- Produce recommendations to enhance and optimize project execution.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead project update meetings for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM program with 14 years of experience. 10+ years in a program management role, or 5+ years in a space engineering role with 5+ additional years in a program management role. Managing multiple contractors and customers, including engagement with GovernmentSETA/FFRDC/UARC
support. Classified space programs, preferably both at the Top Secret and compartmented access to inform integrated analysis, effectiveness, and utility. Development and presentations to O-6 and above Govt leadership, decision quality briefings, and papers. Problem-solving/critical thinking in complex and dynamic environments. Collaborating with IC professionals and understanding IC tasking mechanisms. Outer space environment, spacecraft operations, counterspace threats, space control systems. Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable). Minimum Requirement is a TS/SCI clearance and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination. Travel is 25%.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with spacecraft engineering and design, orbital dynamics, statistical experiment design, data analysis, modeling and simulation, analytics, information system infrastructure configuration, cost/schedule analysis, weaponeering, wargaming, artificial neural networks and machine learning, MBSE, computer programming, and data governance. Role and Responsibilities include:
Lead technical requirements development, systems engineering, and oversee development contractor to develop, design, produce, integrate and test space systems. Oversee payload integration and interface control management. Perform system integration of multiple efforts to integrate complex space systems, ground segment integration, and deployment into operation. Manage and negotiate interface control documents with external stakeholders. Perform systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, interface definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, systems integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and development and refinement of concepts of operation. Lead the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements definition, integration, testing, and verification. Develop and manage technical baselines, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and system performance goals. Oversee technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and evaluate contractor designs to ensure alignment with mission objectives. Expertise in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, including sensor networks, data pipelines, analytics platforms, space object tracking techniques, data fusion, orbit determination, and conjunction assessment. Strong knowledge of DoDI 5000.02 Major Capability Acquisition System processes, JCIDS processes, and the PPBE process, with practical experience in applying acquisition policies to systems engineering. Proficiency in developing and managing Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system architectures, and requirements traceability matrices. Experience applying system modeling and simulation tools, risk analysis frameworks, and technical data reviews. TS/SCI clearance required. Travel is 10%.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field. Professional certifications, such as INCOSE CSEP, DoD DAWIA Level III in Systems Engineering, or other recognized credentials. Experience with space-based technologies, such as electro-optical (EO) payloads, algorithms for space object detection, and SDA data processing/storage systems. Familiarity with operational needs and constraints in space units such as Delta 9, NSDC, JTF-SD, or CSpOC.
