Electrical Project Manager The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for leading electrical projects and departmental operations in support of water and wastewater facilities. This role oversees project planning, bidding, execution, and closeout while ensuring performance goals related to safety, schedule, budget, quality, and operational reliability are achieved. The position also provides leadership to staff and coordinates closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors. Essential Responsibilities Lead the planning, bidding, execution, and closeout of multiple electrical projects supporting water and wastewater infrastructure. Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and change control to ensure successful delivery. Oversee submittals, procurement support, commissioning activities, and project documentation. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, contractors, and vendors to support reliable project execution. Apply and enforce electrical safety requirements, including safe work practices, lockout/tagout, energized work controls, confined space coordination, and fall protection. Provide technical and departmental leadership related to power distribution, controls, SCADA systems, and field execution. Supervise team members and promote accountability, safety, and quality performance. Required Qualifications Master Electrical License required. Minimum 5 years of experience in water and wastewater electrical power, controls, and related infrastructure, including at least 10 years of project management experience. Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation, PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, and emergency power systems. Demonstrates experience managing multiple concurrent projects with responsibility for safety, budget, schedule, quality, and stakeholder coordination. Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including
NFPA 70, NFPA
70E, IEEE, NEMA or IEC standards, local requirements, and company standards. Preferred Qualifications Experience with commissioning, startup, and turnover of electrical and controls systems. Certification in cable splicing and terminations up to 33.5KV. Experience using estimating or bidding tools such as Accu-Bid. Working Conditions Based in Hampton, Virginia, with field involvement as needed to support site visits, testing, startup, and commissioning activities. Requires the use of personal protective equipment and the ability to safely access industrial and construction job sites. Work Environment The job is performed both indoors and outdoors at Systems East LLC office location and customer job sites.
