Job Description

Our client is a well-established, multidiscipline engineering firm known for its strong presence in transportation and infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. Position Overview We are seeking a Transportation / Roadway Project Manager to join a high-performing team focused on highway and transportation design projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead design efforts, manage project delivery, and mentor junior staff while working on impactful infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Lead transportation and roadway design projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Review and certify engineering documents to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards Develop and evaluate alternative design solutions Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations, and approvals Manage project teams, including subconsultants Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams Coordinate with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams Ensure adherence to applicable design standards and project requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) 10+ years of experience in transportation or highway engineering Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Virginia required or ability to obtain) Strong experience with roadway design and transportation projects Proficiency in MicroStation and/or similar roadway design software Experience working with state and local transportation agencies Strong understanding of AASHTO and applicable design standards Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with design-build and alternative delivery projects Familiarity with OpenRoads or similar design tools Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams What's Offered Competitive compensation package Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) with company match Generous PTO and paid holidays Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Career growth opportunities within a collaborative environment Employee-focused programs and wellness initiatives Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Water/ Wastewater Project Manager•Gresham, OR
