Virginia Beach, VA Job Details Full-time $81,046.66 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Bachelor's degree in engineering Full Job Description Work Schedule and Other Information Brief Description Under broad guidance, the Planning Engineer is responsible for reviewing all development projects to verify and approve planned connections to the HRSD system, to protect HRSD infrastructure from planned construction activities, and to coordinate connections to the HRSD system. This position will use engineering principles as guidance to evaluate pump station designs, pipeline designs, and roadway construction, including grading and paving, and installation of stormwater systems. The Planning Engineer coordinates development activities with developers, consulting engineers, localities served by HRSD, and HRSD Operations staff. Review and analysis of projects helps HRSD achieve its mission and environmental goals. Detailed Description Click to view HRSD's Universal Competencies. Job Requirements Education Required Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program Experience Required None Desired Experience in plan preparation, plan review, design and/or construction of utilities or other civil works and the ability to interpret comprehensive plans, master plans, codes and ordinances, developed by local governments Experience with GIS applications Working knowledge of pumping systems and hydraulics Licenses and Certifications Requirements Required Valid driver's license from state of residence Desired Engineer In Training certification Additional Details HRSD is committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
