QP Group are looking to speak with experienced water and wastewater field supervision professionals, ideally located in Virginia or North Carolina, to join one of our clients in Virginia Beach for a newly awarded project in the area. Position Overview The Senior Superintendent provides overall leadership for field operations on large-scale heavy civil, water/wastewater or environmental construction projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Projects may include water and wastewater treatment facilities, dams, bridges, transportation infrastructure, and industrial or energy-related construction. Key Responsibilities Lead all field operations for complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects Develop and execute project work plans, schedules, and site logistics Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, craft labor, and self-perform crews (civil, mechanical, electrical) Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements Partner with Project Managers, Engineers, and Owners to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and budget Monitor productivity, costs, and quality; proactively identify and resolve issues Conduct site meetings, progress reviews, and reporting Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders Mentor and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field staff Drive project success through proactive communication and problem-solving Qualifications 10+ years of experience in heavy civil, water/wastewater, or infrastructure construction Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Superintendent on projects valued at $100M+ Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control Experience with self-perform work (earthwork, concrete, mechanical systems, etc.) preferred Demonstrated leadership in safety and team management Ability to manage multiple crews and complex site logistics Familiarity with alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, CMAR) is a plus Strong communication and leadership skills Education Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred Equivalent field experience will be considered Work Environment & Travel Primarily field-based role in Virginia Beach, VA Regional travel may be required depending on project assignments Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Performance-based incentives Comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, PTO) Vehicle or allowance (if applicable)Similar remote jobs
