VP, Water Equipment & Systems EngineeringPosition OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to serve as Vice President of Water Equipment & Systems Engineering. This role will lead the design, development, and technical strategy for water and wastewater treatment equipment and integrated systems, ensuring reliable, compliant, and cost-effective solutions for municipal and industrial clients. The VP will drive innovation, oversee cross-functional engineering teams, manage technical partnerships, and ensure projects meet performance, schedule, and budget targets while maintaining strong safety and quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and vision for water and wastewater equipment and systems engineering, aligning technical roadmaps with business objectives and market needs.
Lead, mentor, and grow multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee the design, development, and optimization of treatment equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and process integration.
Ensure engineering solutions meet regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements and industry best practices.
Collaborate with product management, sales, project delivery, and manufacturing to translate customer requirements into manufacturable, serviceable, and cost-effective solutions.
Drive innovation in water treatment technologies, process optimization, and equipment performance, including materials selection and chemical handling considerations.
Manage technical proposals, support bids, and provide expert technical input during client negotiations and project execution.
Establish and maintain technical standards, design guidelines, and quality control processes across projects and product lines.
Oversee vendor and supplier selection and management, ensuring components meet specifications and support long-term reliability and maintainability.
Represent the company at industry forums, standards committees, and with key customers to build credibility and partnerships.
QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required in at least one U.S. state.10+ years of progressive experience in water and/or wastewater treatment engineering, including leadership or management roles.
Proven expertise in water treatment processes and equipment design and integration.
Strong project and program management experience with a track record of delivering complex engineering projects on schedule and within budget.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging customers, regulators, and cross-functional teams.
Experience with materials selection, chemical handling, and safety/compliance requirements for treatment systems.
Ability to travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and project locations as needed.
Nice-to-have:
hands-on experience or familiarity with wastewater processes, clarifiers, centrifuges, dissolved air flotation (DAF), submerged aerated filter (SAF) systems, and various filtration systems.
