Principal Engineer Fond du Lac, WI Apply for this job Principal Process Engineer Position Overview An established industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead the development, review, and execution of process engineering strategies for major capital projects and operational improvement initiatives. This role serves as the technical authority for process design, front-end engineering, system optimization, and commissioning activities across multiple production facilities. The successful candidate will provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development and scope definition through detailed design, installation, startup, and operational validation. This individual will also mentor engineering team members and help establish design standards that improve consistency, reliability, efficiency, and long-term operational performance. Professional Responsibility and Scope This position is responsible for leading complex engineering programs involving manufacturing processes, utility systems, environmental systems, process equipment, and facility infrastructure. The Principal Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project objectives, evaluate alternatives, manage technical risk, and deliver practical engineering solutions that support business growth and operational excellence. Responsibilities include process modeling, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, system layout development, design reviews, technical evaluations, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also provides technical guidance to project teams, contractors, equipment suppliers, and operations personnel.
