Description Vice President of Strategy and Contracts This high level leadership role is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-level strategy while overseeing contracts, business operations, and cross-functional performance. Reporting to executive leadership, the position is accountable for driving strategic planning, ensuring contractual compliance, and improving business processes to support profitability and operational effectiveness. The role partners closely with division and functional leadership to define strategic priorities, assess business performance, and ensure alignment between program execution and contractual obligations. This individual will also oversee key functions including business development, marketing, supply chain strategy, and external affairs. Key Responsibilities Lead enterprise strategic planning in collaboration with business unit and functional leadership Support and execute key strategic initiatives in partnership with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders Oversee the contracts function, establishing standardized contract management and administration practices across the organization Lead negotiation and execution of complex contracts and proposals, working closely with internal teams and external partners Partner with leadership to develop and implement strategies that drive profitable growth and portfolio diversification Provide leadership for business development and marketing functions to support revenue growth and market expansion Analyze and optimize supply chain performance, developing strategies to improve efficiency, resiliency, and vertical integration Oversee external and government-facing engagement strategies to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory considerations Drive continuous improvement initiatives across business operations to enhance execution and performance Skills Military, government, Defense industry, ammunitition, munition, strategy development, Management skills, Executive administration, Compliance, strategy, corporate strategy, contracts procurement, contracts Top Skills Details Military,government,Defense industry,ammunitition,munition,strategy development,Management skills,Executive administration,Compliance,strategy,corporate strategy,contracts procurement,contracts Additional Skills & Qualifications Qualifications Minimum of 20 years of experience within a defense contracting, aerospace, or highly regulated manufacturing environment; experience supporting military or government programs preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred Demonstrated track record of leadership with responsibility for business units, functional organizations, and profit and loss performance Proven ability to evaluate, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives in complex, compliance-driven environments Experience working directly with military, government, or defense-related customers to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining strong commercial outcomes Experience engaging with government or legislative stakeholders to support funding, program alignment, or regulatory requirements Strong understanding of defense contracting frameworks, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and contract compliance within regulated manufacturing environments Experience negotiating complex contracts and proposals, including exposure to audit and compliance requirements (e.g., cost or pricing reviews) Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growth-oriented or small-to-mid-sized organizational environment
